Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- assess published studies about infectious diseases, focusing on methodological approach and validity of the findings
- give a clear presentation of a published study, focusing on the most important aspects of reporting and interpretation.
- actively participate in discussions about the epidemiology of infectious diseases
Topics/Content
Published (preferable recent) about any infectious disease, with a focus on epidemiological methods, infection dynamics and statistical analysis. Powerpoint presentation of the publication, preferably following a reporting guideline for the type of study. Group discussion about any aspect of the presentation.
Activities / Program
- Choosing publication at least one week before the presentation
- Preparatory reading
- Presentation of paper by individual students
- Active discussion of papers in group

Target audience
This course targets PhD students, postdocs, clinicians, and public health practitioners who would like to acquire skills in the topics.
Application and admission procedure
A tertiary education degree is required. The program manager decides on the final admission. Priority is given to PhD students.
